FAQ’s General Questions
Do you need to have additional insurance? This depends upon the activity, 12 degrees and their suppliers have the necessary legislative insurance in place however an insurance broker can offer advise if any additional personal insurance may be required. If you are running a company event you may also want to contact your own legal department for further advice.
I am a diabetic is there anywhere to keep my medication at the right temperature? All medical / dietary requirements are considered on a case by case basis. We always try to accommodate any specific requirements.
I am pregnant can I still participate? Other medical conditions / allergies? This will depend upon the activity and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
I have a 15 year old son can he attend? This will depend upon the activity and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
What happens if my train is late? Within your joining instructions you will be given a contact number to call, everything will be done so that you enjoy you experience.
Where do I park and what should I bring? Prior to your experience you will be sent comprehensive joining instructions providing all the information you will need.
FAQ 12 degrees Gift/ Experience Vouchers
How long will the vouchers take to be delivered?If you order before 2pm, we will usually dispatch the vouchers on the same day by first class post (depending on the postal service, we suggest you allow five working days for delivery by this method). Orders placed after 2pm will usually be dispatched on the next working day. If you order before 2pm and request Special Delivery it will be guaranteed to arrive the following day before 1pm, however please note that the envelope will need to be signed for. Special Delivery postage is an additional cost but will be advised at time of booking.
What amounts can the vouchers be made out for?They can either be made out for a specific experience with no monetary value shown if a gift or can be made out in values of £10, £25 or £50. A minimum voucher purchase is £10 and no maximum limit.
How long do I have to use my voucher?
Your experience must have taken place within 12 months after purchase of the voucher.
We are happy to make refunds on un-booked vouchers bought direct from us within 14 days of purchase. Where dates have already been booked, refunds within 14 days are subject to our Cancellation policy. Refunds can only be made to the person who purchased the voucher and if the payment was originally made by credit/debit card the refund must be made to the same card.
How do I book my experience?
You can use the website to browse and select the package you want. You can then add this to the shopping basket as normal and enter your voucher code when prompted at the checkout. When we have received your booking we will send you a booking form, please note if you are purchasing a package that is a higher value than that of the voucher you will need to supply your debit or credit card details.
Do I have to be fit to take part in the experience I have booked?Some of the events or activities you may book may require a good level of fitness, strength and endurance and this is noted on the event description. It is your responsibility to ensure that all those taking part have the appropriate level of fitness required for each activity.
What if I am not happy with my experience?Should you be unhappy with any element of your experience on the day you should notify the supplier concerned immediately. If the problem still cannot be resolved, you should contact us as soon as possible to enable us to assist and at least within 7 days in writing after the event.
FAQ's Takeaway Treasure Hunts
Where does the Takeaway start and finish? You can start and finish anywhere you like; we would suggest you choose a cafe, pub or restaurant within the area covered by the treasure hunt.
What time does the Takeaway start? Again whenever you like but you will of course find it easier to complete in the daylight.
Does each team have the same clues? Yes the treasure hunts consist of six different coloured zones, each of which covers a different part of the location that you have booked. These can be completed in any order; from experience we know that no two teams ever plan their route in exactly the same way, thus ensuring that teams do not all complete the treasure hunt in the same order.
Is there any set-up required?All of the clues are set-up for you so there is nothing for you to do on the day other than to read the instructions, send your text and get going!
Can the organiser be involved?Yes the treasure Hunt has been designed so that the scoring is done via the text messaging feature, and not via the organiser, meaning that everyone can take part. We would recommend as with a board game, that the organiser may need to read the rules to everyone and ensure that all participants are clear on what is happening.
Are prizes provided? We do not provide prizes as part of the standard Takeaway package but we can offer you medals for an additional charge. Alternatively, why not buy your own prizes for the winning team, and even some wooden spoons for the losers!
How long does the Takeaway take to complete? We recommend that you allow two - three hours for the actual Treasure Hunt, with timings dependant on how competitive and fit you are, and how well you plan your route! These timings are given on the basis that all individuals within each team stick together throughout the hunt.
If the individuals within each team split up then you will complete the hunt in less than two hours so please ensure that all teams agree on the rules beforehand (this is explained in the ‘Rules & Procedures’ Handbook that goes out with your pack). Conversely, you will probably spend more than three hours completing the hunt if you intend to have some refreshment stops along the way!
What will the text messaging feature cost me? The text messaging is free to use for UK phones in the UK! Roaming charges will apply from your network operator for non-UK phones in the UK or for UK phones abroad. Contact your network operator for further information.
How many Team Packs will I need? We recommend that you have no more than five people in a team so as to ensure maximum enjoyment and involvement. You should therefore purchase 1 Team Pack for each team that is going to take part.
When will I receive my Takeaway? Your Takeaway will be posted by first class post to you approximately two weeks prior to your event provided payment has been received. If you need the Takeaway quickly we can send by special or recorded delivery this will be at an additional cost but we will advise you of details at time of booking and before taking payment. Please note that the Takeaway will not fit through a normal sized letterbox.
